Holbrook - Submarine Town

Alongside Hume Highway, 400 km from the sea, lies the hull of Australian submarine HMAS Otway, now a feature of Norman Holbrook Park.

Mk VIII torpedo commemorates  Lt Com H H G D Stoker DSO  RN and the Ship’s Company of HMAS AE2. After successfully penetrating the Dardanelles on Anzac Day 1915, AE2 sank a Turkish cruiser and for six days harassed the enemy in the Sea of Marmara before being sunk and her crew captured.
